Objectives and Requirements

Objectives

Our objectives in developing this web site are:

To provide a resource containing genealogical information primarily for our family and relatives but as we realized this automatically encompasses the whole Extended Dashora Community

To be able to remember our relatives some of whom we have rarely seen

To be able to determine how people are related to us

To provide documented information for future generations

To document the collective memory of our family history so that our future generations do not feel lost about their origins as we feel - specially for those of us who do not live in India

Required Data and Information

Our database permits including the following information for all persons ( living or deceased ).
We include both male and female persons in our database.

	Full Name -First Name, -Middle Name -Last (Family) name (sir name) any titles or prefixes. Following standard genealogical practice our database uses maiden name is as the primary last name for females. The software automatically stores married name as well. (and not the married name as is customary).
	Aliases (other names by which people are known by)
	Gotra / Avantak
	Date of birth
	Place of Birth
	Sex ( Male or Female)
	Date of marriage
	Place of Marriage
	Names of children and all of the above information about them
	Date of death or an indication if a person is not living anymore
	Significant events in their life
	Any other special data such as profession, achievements or other events in their life or other facts that need to be remembered by future generations
	Photographs (we recommend passport style)

We need your help in making this database as complete as possible
