Recent Developments Regarding Sati Mata Shrine
 Submitted by Dayawant Dashora
 June , 2008.

It appears that the Sati Mata Shrine in Mandsaur  representing a key event in Dashora Genealogy  is worshiped both by Dashora Brahmins and by Dashora Mahajans. A movement is in progress to convert the present day "Otla" (which is located on an island in the river)  to a Temple. A delegation of Dashoras met with the Mayor of Mandsaur last month. The Mayor seemed favourable and willing to allocate large amount of real estate for the project provided that a proper unified organizational structure, which has support from  the communities involved,  is in place.

Another delegation of Dashoras lead by  Sharad Dashora  is planning to visit Mandsaur this month. Further developments will be reported soon.

Formation of a new united group to oversee the renovation of the Sati Mata Shrine  "Dashora Nagar Brahmin Parishad" is underway. The respective Dashora Samaj Presidents namely  Mr. Shivnarayan Dashora (Dashora  Samaj, Khandawa), Dr. Sumeet Mishra (Dashora Samaj, Indore), Dayawant Dashora (Dashora Samaj, Bhopal) and .Mr. Sourav Shastri (Dashora  Samaj, Ujjain) have reached agreement to form such a group. The proposed President of the group is Dr. Vijay Anand Joshi.
